Samco Silicon Hoses for Lotus Twincam:

Direct replacements for the original (very expensive) rubber hoses A026K. 0003Z and A026K.0004Z as used on Elan and Elan Plus 2, Cortina, Seven and various others.

I have also had manufactured the unobtainable top hump hose from the early Elans, also used on some Cortinas and Sevens. These are ideal if you use a filler tank in the top hose. Alternatively I have a reducer hose which can also be used to replace the Europa top hose. These hoses are only available from me.

Samco are suppliers to the top F1 and rally teams, including Ferrari, Maclaren, Prodrive, Ralliart and Williams.

The hoses are the best quality available. They will not perish so your coolant stays cleaner (no rubber bits in it). They will not burst or split as they are considerably stronger than rubber and an ideal replacement for the vulnerable bottom hose. If they get dirty, just wash them with hot soapy water. If you are rebuilding your engine these are a good insurance policy against bunged-up waterways and loss of coolant through split and decaying rubber hoses.

All hoses come supplied with top quality stainless steel hose clamps.

Samco hoses are also available for Lotus Elise, Exige and M100. Email me for more info.

Thermostat Housing for Lotus Twincam:

The housing is a direct replacement for the original thermostat housing and incorporates a filler cap so you can guarantee you are filling the cooling system from the highest point. Also by using this housing you can fit more modern readily available radiators which do not have the filler cap on them. There is also a threaded boss (M22x1.5mm) for fitting a temperature sensor for triggering the cooling fan or feeding a temperature gauge as well as an expansion bottle hose take-off.

The housing has the same orientation and hose size as original so can be used without having to modify your existing hoses.

Aluminium Rear Bulkhead:

This bulkhead replaces the original pressed cardboard and puts something metal between you and the petrol tank. It also looks great if, like me, you decide not to cover it up again with carpet. The one in my car has extra holes cut so that you can access the rear suspension mountings for fixing harnesses.

K&N Air Filter:

The original air box that sits in the nose of the Elan is very restricting and relies on old style paper elements as well as obstructing air flow to the radiator. This assembly fits directly onto the original existing 3½” diameter flexible hose from the air box and can be mounted either in the front nose cone similar to the original air filter, or I have mine mounted on the inner wing where it sits clear of the radiator and does not obstruct flow.

The filter is greatly oversized relative to the amount of air it needs to flow for the Lotus Twincam and is capable of handling any increase in horsepower and engine size even up to full race. The assembly is very straight forward and takes about thirty minutes to fit into the car.

Engine to air box breather:

This design fits the same as original and is held in place by connecting to the air box, but. the tube is blanked at the air box end so it vents downwards via a hose to beneath the car or into a collector tank .
Instead of the original rubber seal used to seal the tube to engine I use a custom made PTFE seal which holds the tube more positively and will not perish.  The tube has a mesh filter inside as per original

Flexible ducting:

Very flexible smooth bore ducting.

Same internal diameter 3.1/2 inch (89mm) as original ducting but very flexible so easier to install with very tight bends possible.

This ducting size is also used on various other Lotus such as Esprits, Excels, Europas etc
